Modern Sound System in 1995 S500

Just bought a 1995 S500 with 19K miles, and I want to replace the Bose stereo head unit with an Alpine iPOD compatible head unit. It doesn't much matter to me whether or not I keep the Bose 7 channel amplifier; I can replace it with two Alpine 4 channel amplifiers and probably get better sound. I keep reading this is a difficult conversion to make; has anyone done it and if so, how do you do it? Thank you.

Those conversions are not easy to do but well worth it. We have done a couple S500 from 90's and all of them came out amazing.

I suggest you ask the same questions you asked in this forum in the "Audio and Telematics" forum (scroll down the home page a bit) and the W140 forum which is the forum for your car. Both places will have people who have specific knowledge to answer the questions you asked.

Good luck.
