QUESTION: Will a 2500 watt power inverter damage my Benz?

Thinking of using a 2500 W/5000W DC to AC Power Cigarette Lighter Inverter to charge my iPhone and run external speakers.

I drive a 2000 C230.

Any chance this setup will create electrical issues?

probably not damage, but you likely won't be happy. good chance you'll blow the cig lighter fuse as the inverter starts up. you CAN NOT get more than about 150 watts from a cig lighter inverter w/o blowing a fuse. a 2500 watt inverter will draw over 200A at full power and way more than needed quesently. (and at full power destroy a normal car battery in short order car starting batteries aren't meant to deliver 100+ amp for moe than 30 seconds or so, that's what deep discharge batteries are for, but they aren't good starting batteries) and it is way overkill for what you want to do. You don't need more than about 25W to charger a phone. stick with a 100watt or less inverter if you want to use it off your cig lighter. any real 2500 watt inverter will NOT be sold with a cig lighter cable, it would take a 2/0 or so direct connection to the battery. And a real 2500 watt inverter is going to be larger, like close to the size of a shoe box. a 50 or 100 watt inverter can be pretty small, not much bigger than a cell phone.

That doesn't sound like a good idea off the cigarette lighter. I don't see why you couldn't hook directly to the battery, and get a good 3 to 5 minutes of loud music. I would think an external battery would be the way to go.

Did you type an extra zero in your question? I'm with e-420; I can't imagine that you have a real need for that much wattage unless you're driving speakers the size of your car. Less is more. Satisfy yourself with smaller everything in this case so you spare the battery, charging system, and wiring in your car.

Good luck.
