CLK 430 coolant warning
I just had my major B service done last week at MB of cary, nc. now the coolant light is on. I did not have a coolant problem prior to going to the dealership.
the B service includes inspection of coolant levels, hoses, clamps. if nothing was found upon inspection, then why would i have this warning light? i checked the reservoir and it is indeed low so i parked the car. the car is not overheating, so i am not sure what may have happened. i am assuming that they did fill the reservoir.
i have had 90% good service experiences with the dealership. it just baffles me that i did not have this problem prior to a major service, where the a/c would be inspected. and if there was a problem, then it should have been noticed on the the major service...so this tells me that there was not a problem. and perhaps someone forgot to reconnect something.
i immediately turned the a/c off and parked the car after the warning light went off in fear of running out of MB antifreeze, which would create another problem. i just hope that someone forgot to reconnect a hose or clamp tightly
i am also hoping that if the dealership was negligent, that did not lead to any other issues with my car.
luckily the car is not overheating, but that could be due to the temp outside 40.
called roadside, they recommended i use water, or MB antifreeze. i don't have any MB antifreeze and water is not an option. i can't believe they suggested that. i parked the car, turned off a/c and i am waiting to speak with the manager on Monday.
