BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON THIS MORNING

STARTED MY CAR UP THIS MORNING IN NY.. MMMM 18 DEGREES OUTSIDE... BBRRRRR COLD OUT.... AND IN THE DASH CAME WITH BIG RED COLOR IMAGE.. BATTERY LIGHT... NO CODES??? ANYONE RUN ACROSS THIS PROBLEM BEFORE. AM WORRING IF ITS THE ALTERNATOR...

It's a decent worry, but I'd suggest posting down in the 211 forum rather than this general one...those guys have the same chassis as you and can give you more specific info.

That most likely is the aux battery for the SBC brakes.
Check the manual to make sure.
To some degree low battery warning on cold start might be normal and if it goes away later I wouldn't worry about it immediately, but checking the prices in the mean time might be good idea. You will find several topics about it in W211 section.

If it's the original battery, it's old.

Starting always drains the battery a little and batteries in general lose voltage when cold. Yours would appear to be getting low and the start was enough to trigger the message.

It's highly unlikely it's the alternator and if you can run the car for a while and then restart it without getting the message again, it can be concluded the battery has been charged up by the alternator.
