Smile Need some TIPS on places to get car stuff in Hong Kong

Hey Everyone

I’m heading off to Hong Kong over the Christmas and New Year period for a bit of a holiday. I was wondering if anyone (from Hong Kong or a regular visitor) knew of any good places that I might be able to get some parts and or upgrades for my car. I’m thinking of Stereo, lights, anything really.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers and best wishes for the holiday season.

Drew

Hello Drew,

Based on my experience, if you want O.E./O.E.M. parts, you may try:
Valiant Auto Parts. Co. LTD.
# 93 Hak Po Street,
Mongkok, Kowloon
Tel. No. (852) 2789 9968
Look for Steve (owner) or Mr. Leung, both speak English.
On the same street and side of Valiant, is another store, which sells lights (xenon conversions, I would presume China made) for your W210 and others.
For stereo, that area has a lot of accessory stores. For O.E., there's also Zung Fu, the authorized dealer for HK. I normally go to their Causeway Bay store, as it has the biggest boutique store for MB merchandise.

Whenever I fly in to HK, the first thing I do is to buy the car magazines made and printed there. Even if I don't speak/understand Chinese, I just go over the advertisements to see who sells what for MB. If you want tuner parts, like AMG, Lorinser, Carlsson, there's Pyramid Auto and Speedline, both are in the Hong Kong side. To get the addresses, you may try the listings on the yellow pages, under Motor Car.

Don't forget to verify if the lighting systems are meant for right hand drive cars, like yours and HK, as some stores sell for left hand drive, as they do have a lot for export.

Hope this helps...

Chicky

WOW!!! Thanks for the info.

My Girlfriend is going to hate me now. She has this crazy idea that I spend too much time on my car. Oh well…now I get to take my obsession to another country.

Thanks again for the great contacts. I really appreciate your response. I would never have thought to purchase a car magazine…I love the idea though. I’ll have to pick up a couple when I touch down.

Have a good Christmas and New Year.

Kind regards

Drew

P.S. Nice car you have there. I really like the R series. It’s really nice to see one that is kept in "near new" condition.

Cheers

I think she'll even love you more...what with all the shopping she can do, evewn at night!

The Mongkok area has a lot of stores that carry parts, accessories and stereo for cars. I suggest that before you fly into HK, do some research on ebay, so that you'd have a ball park figure for xenon lights for the 210. The store near Valiant, has the lamp assemblies, but I'm not sure if they meant for right hand drive. BTW, Valiant looks small, but let me assure you, they're one of the biggest independent wholesalers of MB parts. I source most of my parts, for the SL, from them.

Happy Holidays also!
