W211 Glow plug light

Hi all,
has anyone experienced a problem with the glow plug warning staying on after startup on cold mornings E270 CDi 03 plate. Once the engine is warm and I start up the light remains off - I have had the relay switch replaced which made no difference - I then had the glow plugs replaced (one was duff) but still the light comes on (the garage cleared the faults after the repair).. the original diagnostic blamed the relay but then cleared that when the glow plug fault came up, anyone now where to go from here?

I'd start with the cheap and easy - check your glow plugs. There is nothing that says a glow plug can't be bad out of the box or go bad quickly. I assume/hope that you used either Bosch or Beru glow plugs. BTW Mercedes parts are guaranteed for one year, unlimited mileage in the US, so if a part went bad, Mercedes will pick up the tab to replace it, parts and labor included regardless of who installed it the first time.

cdi in 2003? That is not US. We are always few years behind in technology
I agree with checking the plugs first.
What garage can't diagnose the problem?
