I was warned...and feel like an idiot. (R350)
So a month ago I convinced myself to believe all the good reviews overshadowed the bad on the R350. I found one with 30k miles for $24k and pulled the trigger. The history was clean, the car ran great, and met my family's needs to a T.
Last week the car shut down on my twice. They replaced a faulty sensor and said it was fixed.
Yesterday the brake pedal started squeeking very loudly. I chalked it up to the cold weather.
This morning when I started the car there was a very loud "chirp" followed by squeeking under the hood.
While driving today the car revved up to 8k RPM's at 30 mph and would not change gears. I pulled over and put the car in park...heard an extremely large noise and jolt...and heard the same crunching noise and jolt as I transfered in and out of park.
Turned the car off and back on and it was fine...
Called the dealership where I purchased the car and in frustration asked them to buy it back. On occasion miracles do happen.
Guess I'll be heading back to the MB dealership on Monday.
Lesson learned... to those who warned about the R Class...I'm sorry I was a stubborn idiot who looked past negative reviews with the hope the car would work.
If anyone has a working Delorean with a functional flux capacitor I would really appreciate the ability to go one month in time.
