Faulty Headligh switch E320 w210
Hi... I have a '96 E320 W210 with Automatic DTR lights, and at the moment the right side marker, R/DTR light, rear tail light, including the R/brake light do not come on after starting the car.
I can get them ... The R/DTR ,R/side markers, including R/tailight to come on by turning the headlight switch to the 'parklight postion'. This is not a problem. Problem is that the R/ brake light, including the rear hat rack brake light also now do not work.
All fuses and bulbs are OK. and I am sure that the problem is in the ignition switch. Rather than spending $300.00 for the switch plus labour to re & re it, I have got the R/side markers, DTR light, including the tail lights to work as normal [ automatically] with out using the headlight control switch by running a jumper wire from the L/ rear tail light that works to the R/side that does not.
Does anyone know what part of the rear tail light 'mother board' is 'hot' for the brake light? I would like to run a jumper wire to the R/ side to make it work. I would just solder a wire to the correct position on the bulb holder and run the wire neatly out of sight. I have been trying different locations on the board for the brake light but keep blowing the fuse. Thanks in advance.
