Timing Chain

Had the 400se towed in yesterday - possible timing chain. What else should be repaired with the timing chain? Any suggestions for a place with good rebuilt parts in NJ?

Impossible to say until it is examined in the workshop.

Is the W140 an 'interference' engine? If so, you might have done major damage to your engine. Damaged pistons, valves, cylinders, etc when the engine ran on with the timing out. Let's hope not.

Btw, what's the mileage? MB chains are pretty good, but normally let you know (by the noise) when they are on the way out.

I'm at 175K - they are checking it out now - got it started but thinks it is flooded (fuel in cyclinders). Let's hope so
