S55 AMG Maintenance question

I have a 2001 S55 AMG, with 115k miles. I want to make sure I address any problem with preventive maintenance so I don't have any issues with it.

Anything major I should be concerned with doing soon around this mileage? Spark plugs, things like that.

I recently did:

Oil Change, Cooling system flush, new ball joints and control arm bushings for the front, and everything else seems to be good - but anything I am missing? Transmission fluid/brake flush, stuff like that?

Also..my windshield wiper fluid is always on empty because I think there is a leak - most likely the headlamp washer nozzles since they are missing. I went to Mercedes but it's almost 1k to repair this to get the fluid from leaking and replace the nozzles, any cheaper way to do it so the tank stays full? I don't care about the headlamp washers, just the windshield washers.

I would look into flushing the brake fluid and transmission fluid. I would also install a new set up spark plugs and check the air and fuel filter.

As for the leak, try and fix the problem yourself. That will help you save a lot.

In terms of the spark plugs, do the wires have to be replaced too? The dealer quoted me around $1600 for the plugs and wires with labor and parts...is that high? What would an indy tech cost?

damn I wish you didn't pay that much. That's a $500 service tops at an independent shop.

hell for 1600 that better include a gift certificate to the bunny ranch lol.
you can get the wires for 200-300 and the plugs are about 70-100.
magnacore makes a set of aftermarket wires so you can email them and they will get you a part#.
the plugs are really easy to change its just a little time consuming but it can save you a lot of money.
i did mine in my e500 for 60 bucks for the plugs my wires where ok.
there are some write ups on here so do a search.

I would definitely suggest looking at the car yourself because $1000 to fix that small little problem is a lot of money. New transmission fluid would definitely be a good idea because you never know when the last time it was replaced.

The major service should have already been completed around 100k miles. You are already 15k miles over!

$1000 to replace 2 nozzles is highway robbery. They can't be that difficult or is there more to the job than those? If they have to replace both reservoirs, all the tubing and the pump in addition to the nozzles then I might understand that figure. I would find some way to plug the ends where the nozzles attach, but make sure that's where the fluid is leaking first.

Ditto to the brake and transmission services. Wires rarely go bad but your plugs are past due (4 years or 100,000 miles whichever comes first) unless you have the service history indicating otherwise. So basically, you are due for the ~120,000 mile "B" service.

Hey, I have this same exact car. I recently did my spark plugs for 100$ no problem (a bit time consuming but that's all) and I also had missing headlamp washers (also causing all the washer fluid to leak out). Initially i got two small quarks and plugged up the holes where the nozzles for the washers go. However I was able to find a left and right washer on eBay for about 75$ a piece (original parts from Germany), when i got them i popped them into the hoses and filled the washer fluid and was good to go. no leaks. I love this car and have been slowly keeping it in good condition. Fuel filter is my next project. Good Luck!
