Yes turning the bolts is the key. More like getting at the bolts and when you do, not breaking the exhaust manifold bolts/studs.
Really this job is not that bad on any car as long as have a good memory or system to document how you took the thing apart. I took lots of digitals when I did my VW.
-have the head checked by an automotive machine shop for cracks and flatness
-replace the head bolts
-torque them to spec as indicated with the gasket kit
-buy a quality gasket kit
-retorque the bolts after a few hours of operation
