E 420 Tire recommendations

I'm shopping for replacement tires and am looking for recommendations. E420 tires are 215/55R16

Ditto to e-420. However, without further information I can recommend Continentals or Michelins. Also, if you are as neurotic as I am, call MBUSA (800-FOR-MERC) give them your VIN and they can tell you what were the original tires. Your spare might be an indication of that too.

I use Michelin or Continental exclusively on my sedans (also my wife's Lexus LS430). I prefer the Michelin MXV4 as the best compromise for handling, noise, and wear. I used Continental Pilots on my previous Lexus ES300. I use Sumitomo HRZ III (I think that's right) for my R129, but they are Z-rated, high performance, and last at least as well as anything else.

The Michelins are pricey, but so is the car they go on, and they were OEM on my W220.
