Bad Cylinder head

I recently purcheased a 2006 E350 and it has 45,000 miles thinking it was still
under warranty.Turns out it was not. It has a rough idle problem and turns out
that the valve guides are not within specs, causing low compression in some of the cylinders. This problem is in both heads. My question is how can a car with this low of mileage, and a "MERCEDES" engine have this problem?
Does Mercedes ever fix a factory defect (in my opinion) after the warranty has expiered?

This is more of the legal issue you might want to take with the seller.
I think on this forum 100% members agree that you should not buy used MB without careful inspection.
Welcome to the forum and good luck with the case. Give us more details?

I thought the new car warranty was 4 years and 50,000 miles. So I guess the original in service date was before Nov 8, 2005? If that is the case it is not very far past warranty and yes, Mercedes has been known to make good will repairs after warranty expiration. What is the service history?

You have a W211 and I would also ask on that forum (look under sedans below). You might discover this is a "common" problem with the E350s of that approximate vintage.
