98 E320 Trunk Problem

Hello benzworld. I'm having problems trying to get my trunk open....the black key and the silver key doesn't work. The release button in the car doesn't work. When I try to push the silver key entrance on the trunk it just pushes all the way in and the trunk doesn't open......Any advice is needed........thanks in advance

One possibility: there is a way to lock the trunk to prevent a valet or parking lot attendant from opening your trunk if you leave the black remote (after removing the silver blade key) with him/her. Put the sliver key into the lock and turn it the opposite way from what you're doing now. If that's not it, you might new a new lock cylinder.

Owners manual will likely clear it up.

You are pushing the button in locked position. You have to turn the blade key 90 degree ccw and than push
By removing the blade in this position you will allow remote opening.
