1998 ml320 runs great and stalls

I have a 1998 Merecedes Benz ML320...car starts and runs great for about an hour then just stalls...suv does it while parked at idle and while driving...after about a half an hour suv starts right up again and runs fine untill it just stalls again...i have no trouble codes and have just replaced the fuel filter and cps sensor after the problem started...any thoughts?

Where did you source your parts?

Which CPS did you change? The cam sensor on the front or the crank sensor in the rear?

The fuel pump connectors on those trucks are weak point as well.
Check the fuel pressure on the rail next time it stall.

The connectors on the fuel pumps burn up sometimes.

Solution

My ML320 has the same exact issues. If you do not mind me asking what did you do to resolve the stall and rest problem? You listed two parts and a third one you were going to try. Is this the path you used to resolve your issue.

Thanks

When it won't start see if the tach moves up to about 150 RPM. If it does not I would get the crankshaft position sensor. Especially if it has to cool down before it will restart.
Make sure to only get the Bosch made sensor.

The problem ended up being the cam position sensor on the rear of the engine. When the truck heated up to operating temp it would fail. I replaced it with a new one I got from autohausaz.com. And it's ran great ever since.

I'm sorry I mean the crank position sensor on the rear of the engine.
