Faster differential than 2:65 for w124?
I'm new in this forum, and my english isn't good as well, so I hope you all forgive me my language mistakes.
I do have a small problem with my mercedes 300TD turbo. It is born in '91 with an automatic transmission and 108kw.
The problem is that on "highway" the rpm is too high. It's about 2500rpm when driving in 100km/h. And when speed increases, so does the rpm. So I'm asking if anibody know if it is possible to find and install my wagon a faster differential? For now there is 2:65. As i found out, there isn't much faster differentials for w124 at all. The only one i did found was 2:24, and was originally ment for 400E or E420, and made for USA market. Here in Estonia, i havent found a w124 with this type of differential, so I'm asking does anybody know if w210 or w202 differentials will fit with some light modifications, or what kind of car differential will fit.
I'm not a dragracer, so acceleration decrease doesn't affect me at all. all that matters is rpm decrease driving in highways
