Not yet an owner - help me over the top

Hey folks,

I am a member of both the Cadillac forum and the Corvette forum and I find these sites to be awesome. From what I've read on Benzworld it looks to be very comparable. Here's my issue - I need/want to replace my Caddy SLS and I have included MB's in my list of potential new rides. I've had my eyes on a few E320's in the Chicago area... and, with the resale value that many of the Japanese luxury cars are demanding, the Benz's look to be affordable. However, from what I've read on this forum, read in reviews, and what I've heard from a few friends who've owned MB's, there seems to be a real 'hit and miss' with regards to service and build quality. Some folks talk about near constant visits to the repair shops for a variety of reasons (Window regulators, tranny sensors, etc. etc. etc). I have 2 kids in college and a vintage Corvette that (can) eat into all of my disposable income. I'm wondering if a used MB is worth the risk. Yet, I love the look and the ride !!! Help me over the top here... point me to some sticky's, give me some testimonials, give me some research tips to avoid the lemons, whatever you got !!! Thanks!

Welcome aboard
I would suggest a car that has a FULL service history,
rather than the owner changing the oil and filters, and not giving the car a complete look over every year like the dealer would do.

you can look into the model specific area for more info http://www.benzworld.org/forums/
