I'm Torn! Can someone give a guy advice?

I'm proud to be the owner of a brand new 2010 GLK. Signed the deal tonight, and because our negotiations took us until after closing time at the dealership, I will be returning Monday to finalize a couple points.

I would like some feedback and input. I am really torn on color.

First let me tell you the kit I negotiated.

Sport package, (20" tires and all....brushed aluminum trim ... wish they had the black burl wood but the Walnut clashed too much with the interior....)

Sport package also gives me the Aluminum Roof rails.

I am torn between Palladium Silver Metallic or Black ... not the metallic black.... just the black. I know...i know....color is personal preference!! But, I am really stuck. My wife is stuck...the kids like them both....and I don't want to get one color only to wish I had chosen the other.

I live in Toronto, we are subjected to road salts and snow of course ..

I feel the Black makes the aluminum pop more but the palladium silver metallic gives it a classy look .... I am torn!!! I've got until Monday to finalize color selection and any input or advice would be appreciated!

Oh, and another thing... I got the premium package with the Command NAV package... is it worth it to get the media interface? I figure I slap all my music on to a media card and use it instead of plugging in the mp3 player

Thanks in advance to all that take the time to reply.

Dan

Buy the silver for an SUV, because with the black the car will look dirty more often than not in the winter.

Thanks for the quick reply....

Oh, so true. My last suv was silver (non metallic) and my wife drives a black minivan and that thought (winter muck) does weigh on me....it just looks so much "tougher" tricked up in black...but that palladium silver metallic just wreaks of "class"

Oh definitely black for the GLK, the silver just looks a bit too metallic along with the chrome accents.

If torn by the two colors, be Salomon: MB has a wide range of metallic and pearl grays that are each one gorgeous, if having the choice go in between the two dilemma hues so you will not regret choosing either one.

Somehwat reharshing what others have said but in my opinion it depends on the use of the vehicle, if year round then silver may be better because it hides dirt so well (winter use) but if you won't use it in the winter go with black. As someone else said, an in-between color may be appropriate, I always LOVE the dark tungsten colors, not sure specifically what it would be called on a GLK, "steel" I believe, but it would be a happy compromise, look relatively clean but enough contrast for the aluminum details to still "pop". Also, you will have a much more rare color that will stand out among other GLK's as well. I know I always look twice at a MB that's a less common color.

Not a very clear pic but might be useful to you.

This may read as a little oddball but I actually prefer the SUV in white. Just my ten peneth.

Thanks for the replies guys....now I'm really confused lol

The silver I'm contemplating really isn't a "silver" per se.... the palladium silver metallic is slightly less silver and more towards a pewter.... the Black looks rugged for sure but dosh garnit i know our Canadian Winters and if we get anything close to the last two seasons, I will constantly be driving in a 50/50 snow/road salt mix ....

my accountant has the palladium silver C350 and his car pops but I somehow feel as though I won't get that added pop with the SUV ... decisions decisions! lol

Thanks for all the input everyone....I sincerely appreciate it.

That being said,, I think we both know what the choice should be. There is no substitute for good taste or 'class' in this case and besides it IS a Mercedes.

Nothing looks good in the grime of winter, except perhaps a pure white after a snow storm.
Black will have its days when after car washes when you will say "That's a nice truck" and besides, its an SUV and supposed to look rugged.
