Question Should I Purchase A Fidelis Extended Warranty?

Hello Everyone! I am looking for some advice and your opinions on whether I should purchase a 3rd party extended warranty from Fidelis? Does anyone have any experience with warranties from this company?

I have a 2007 C230 Sport Sedan with 44k. Factory warranty ends at 50K. I called Fidelis and they are offering me an additional 100k with $0 deductible for $2,400.00. What do you all think? Is it a good deal? What is the reputation of this car possibly having major/expensive issues after 50k. Money is tight, but if I don't buy and something major goes wrong I know it could be a lot more expensive than the extended warranty cost. I've heard that most MB don't usually have any major issues before 100k. Please help and tell me if you think I need to purchase the extended warranty or not.

Thanks!

I think the best warranty is the MB extended, it will be more expensive than Fidelis. On the other hand these companies are out advertising etc, and are in the business to make money. Some have had good luck, there are many that have failed, ask your dealer how they are to work with.

Ditto to Peter. Most people who buy aftermarket warranties do so because that is their only option. My advice is to pay some more money and extend your MB new car warranty. I think they will allow you 36 more months and up to 100,000 total miles.

Can you or anyone give me an idea of how much the Mercedes Benz Warranty costs for a 100K. I recently purchased a 2006 E350, still under warranty, from a Mercedes Dealer here in Southern California and they told me I could only buy a 3rd party warranty. I declined and called Mercedes Corp officed direclty and found out that they lied. You can buy a Mercedes warranty from any Mercedes dealer as long as manufacturers warranty was still in effect. If anyone could help me on pricing I would really appreciat it.

Dealers have a price list in the form of a brochure and they are listed by body style, and when you buy it. They cost the least when the car is new and is pro-rated upward every 12 months. I've heard they are negotiable but I don't know how much the selling dealer makes on them.

Musicman is correct, You can get a extended untill you new car warranty expires. If they have doing all the service they might negotiate. there are two varieties basic and extended. There is more money for them on aftermarket, I just got a notice on my 8/100000 from my MB dealer. They are offering additional 3rd party coverage and waiving the inspection fee. My 01-E210 origional deluxe 4/50 additional was $2700 in 02, and covered everything except the radio and maintenance items.

For what it's worth, my CPO warranty paid to replace the COMAND unit. Nothing was wrong with the radio/CD portion but the tech blamed my phone issue on it. I also got the analog to digital TeleAid upgrade (phone issue again), all courtesy of MB. I have never subscribed to that but it's nice to know I'm prepared if I ever decide it's worth $240/year.

I doubt that very seriously but things change. I'd call Mercedes corporate to see. That's MBUSA if you are in the U.S.A.

When it expired its gone, MB offered a extended warranty thru Chrysler, but that is history. When I purchased my MB warranty, they told me I would have to purchase it during the first year.
