First Mercedes, First Post

Hello, my name is Brady, and I am buying my first Merecedes later on today. It is an '05 C230 K sedan w/ 36K miles, Pewter w/ Black interior, sunroof, 5Auto, cd changer, and heated seats.

My background: Navy type, love cars, have a supercharged Mustang GT, SVT Lightning (for sale), and Aprilia Mille V-twin superbike. Wife drives a Lexus RX300.

Reason for selling the Lightning: gas mileage, but I have loved that truck.

I was looking for a good looking, reliable sedan, automatic (DC traffic), leather, and at least 25mpg. To be honest, I was considering a Lexus I30, Acura TL, Infinity G35, Maxima, or Altima 3.5. But when I saw the C230 at a local Carmax, I couldn't believe the looks and features and mpg that was right at the top of my price range.

The only option I didn't get that I was considering is the 10 way power seat. I am assuming it would be near impossible to add that on later, but has anyone ever done it?

I've been lurking on here for a while, and already have gotten a lot of great info. From my research, it seems the '05 is the C230 to get with all of the Sport upgrades and last year of the I4 K and 30+ fuel mileage.

No offense to any '06 drivers, but I test drove an '06 and just couldn't justify the extra $5k premium for the V6 and 7 speed tranny.

The two things I could find 'wrong' with the car is the sunroof doesn't not one touch close, and curb rash on the right rear wheel. I have already found a the way to synchronize the windows, so I am looking forward to seeing if it works tomorrow before I buy it. Long story short, I kept telling the salesman that the sunroof should one touch close and he said it didn't so you could crack it.

Next step is finding a new rear wheel. Already started looking at ebay, but any suggestions?

Any "must do" modifications or advice for my "new to me" C230?

Thanks for having me aboard!
