Update to intermittant starting - E320 CDI
So this is the current siuation,m to recap;
First problem. Key would not turn.
New ignition switch assembly and key.
Would not start . Battery diagnosed as flat, new one supplied
A week later , battery flat again, replace FOC
Battery management warning came on on the way back fromnthe dealer.
Alternator diagnosed and replaced (What a price!)
The weather went below zero for a while. The car would not start and needed a jump start every tome.
Weather improved, the car improved , a little. It would not start, the same click no start problem, but perseverence prevailed and it would start after 5.6.7 or eight attempts.
Today, same problem, in the morning after several short trips, the EPC warning showed. The local garage plugged the diagnostic machine in and the warning went after that, "No malfunctions" showed now.
BUT, the car would not start and needed a jump start.
It seems to me that the battery is not taking a good charge or something is running down. So, after the jump start, I ran it for an hour and it now starts OK.
No doubt in the morning it will play up again.
Any good ideas?.
