Similar probem...Click but no crank
Splendid. Replace the battery again, just to be sure. Be a shame to disassemble half the car if the 50c battery was the problem.
I'm having similar problem with a E270CDI MY2004 I just purchased. Intermittently, on turning the key, I hear the click, but the starter does not crank. About 4, sometime one, maybe second try later it cranks and all ok, no malfunctions etc. This occurs randomly, not every time/every day etc. Very similar to what would happen if the battery was "low" ie adequate to engage the solenoid but not crank the starter. However, it couldn't be a low battery as it finally does crank which it wouldn't if the battery was low.
What has the key battery got to do with the starter not turning?
I though the key battery was only for the remote lock/unlock.
Really need help here as I have recently got the car.
