Greatest sports car I've ever owned: smooth, responsive, endless power, reasonably quiet, elegant look, unbeatable rooftop. Headache with the interior paint and the glove box rattles as well as the window stop not functioning. A pity with an MB. What a shame!

Pictures

I'm an owner of this car since 30 months of its birth. That is, it's second hand, but it was perfect. Due care has all the time been exercised in its use and care. Still love it and that is why I'm still resisting the temptation to buy a new one. All machinery parts are in prime condition. But a friend recently being lifted remarked, "It looks very nice on the outside!". What a disgrace for MB. I once took it the the dealer in Hong Kong, but the reply was that it didn't worth repainting because it was expected to flake again very soon! The whole lot in 97 and 98 were like that!!!

Dear Leapyfish,
Many thanks for sharing your experience so kindly.
Hope that I can accomplish what you can and come back with some good pictures.

Yes it is indeed.
Never crashed nor scratched, totally original paint on the exterior.
90% new but only from the outside due to the good paint peeling on the interior plastic.
Promise I'll not let you all down and pictures of good results and procedures will follow.
Waiting for the paint Leapyfish mentioned to arrive now.

Paint arrived today: just 4 days from Germany to Hong Kong.
Now wondering if I should get the primer and the clear coat as well.
Next is to dissemble the storage compartment behind the gear shift.
Will do it coming weekend.
Will keep you informed.
