Wink "older" guy, old cars = oldcarfart

I laughed when I found out what my "nickname" was and let it stick. As a Navy CPO I had pierside parking and would show up in a model A hot rod, old truck, etc. and apparently I was getting referred to as "oldcarfart" by the younger guys so I was "Chief Oldcarfart" <grin>. Retired Navy, retired Kelsey-Hayes (later TRW) brake and suspension R&D prototype engineer. I am building a 1967 Chevy C-10 (early production w/ small rear window) with a 1982 300 SD drivetrain (how many nerves did that irritate, eh?). I found a well worn (124K) recovered theft vehicle for $800.00, and end product will have 4 wheel disc, straight pipe (turbo kills exhaust pulsations and full lenght pipe is quietier than the "rattler" up front). I want to be able to enjoy long cruises, vacations, etc. with a bulletproof drivetrain and a classy vehicle. I am in Clinton, SC (old cotton mill town, retiree heaven) between Columbia and Spartanburg on I-26 in SC (1 hour south of Blue Ridge Pkwy). I have quite an assortment of tools and am building a 40' x 40' garage to play in.
c'mon by! & Enjoy!!!!!!
