Cannot Access Battery

Hi

Help please. My 1998 CLK 320 Elegance has a flat battery, so im unable to access the battery in the boot. I understand there's a jumper point under the hood, but I cannot see where it is ( No, there is no RED box anywhere to be seen under the hood ) Can anyone help please ?

Thanks
SW

You can use the mechanical key to open the trunk.

There are two other tricks, one would be to get a small battery charger, hook it up to the cigarette lighter, turn on the ignition and see if you can get a little charge into the battery. The other is to locate the locking pump under the rear seat, remove the hose for the locks and apply a little pressure, say from a bycicle pump, it should be a yellow line. Does MB provide free road side assistance like the US with fuel and jumps?

I would think that they would, if the car is still under warranty. If not, you in a tough spot. I would get a cigarette lighter charger, plug it in and turn the car to ACC (first position). Make sure everything is off in the car and see if it charges the battery.
