Anyone put Vanity Plates on your MB?

Just got a new plate for our 500SL For years and in 2 states I had KPASSA but that went to the ex so now our new plate is SAYLA V Does anyone else get vanity plates for their car? I've seen a few threads where people get German plates for the front but I like leaving the front of the car unspoiled. I could be talked into one if I saw a nice pic of a 500SL with a cool looking plate on front that didn't spoil the look.

I have personal license plates on all our cars.
In CA we do have to have front plates.
German plates are narrow and longer. See some people swapping CA plates on top of them, but that looks inappropriate IMHO
What are your state requirements for front plates? I do have MB black plate I've got on the car bough in different state, but can't use it in CA

Hi guys,
my C350 has a custom plate C350 - frighteningly original I know!
But then as one review I read said - "you just bought Bordeaux but your friends think you bought Californian" as a C350 doesn't looks different enough to the other models
regards
David

I have SILBER on mine, German word for silver. Last car was RAUCH, German for smoke (color was smoke silver). I tried to get E320 but that was taken, as were DAIMLER, BENZ, and MERCEDES has too many letters (max is 7). I have the powdered black MB star as a front plate with a MB frame, both OEM.

I wanted to get PANZER on the pre-EU German plates for my 300SD.

I don't think they would look good on my CLK.

Americans, for the most part, are pretty lucky when it comes to vanity plates. They are fairly inexpensive. My wife comes from England and they pay amazing amounts of money for a decent plate, far more than I would ever spend.

In the state I live in now there is no front plate, you can put whatever you want (schools, housing subdivisions, sports clubs are pretty popular) on the front. I had KPASSA in 2 different states but I didn't transfer it, that would not be allowed. It just happened to be available when I moved, I got lucky.

BTW, I just realized something. Does your KPASSA mean the same as Que pasa in Spanish?

Funny part is, that the registration plates in Germany are long and square.
The oval plates are export plates given by Germans on the cars that are leaving the country.
For some unexplained reason the oval plates are more famous abroad than original German plates

I remember some reference made to that earlier. I thought the rectangular plates were on UK cars, or do they use them too? I don't understand why the German do this.
