The car was built from 1980 to 1989 starting with 500 units and ending with 341, the high was 2700 in 85 with a linear curve up and down 1700 in 84 and 1100 in 86 down. It had a gray thermoplastic front spoiler and a rear spiler., anti lock was available and an anti squat device was standard as were larger brakes. The spoiler helped stabilize it at speeds (up to 225Km) and was sold for 62,00 Deutche marks in 1980.
If you have never had an 107 SL before, they ride hard, have a huge steering wheel, the seats are comfortable (mechanical) but not great and have limited ajustment. The rear seat is either a package tray or suited for a midget with the optional/euro seat. The metal hardtop is a two (man) operation, and a pain to store. The radio must be aftermarket, I hope the rear side panels were not drilled for two more speakers, the after market rear seat came in two versions fixed and fold down. The timing chain upgrade is important, If it trips your fantasy go for it, check for rust, accident repairs, bad weatherstripping, etc
