which would u buy?

sup guys

so my family needs another car cuz my aunts car gave up on her. it needs to be realiable cuz the women of the house will be driving it for the most part.
so i have the task of finding a decent ride since im trying to convince them not to buy a collora/camry.

now i kno its been asked b4 but i would really like to hear from the techs who has worked on and or owned these cars. would u buy a:

1990 e300 with 87km good cond, but car was parked for many years. black on blk. loaded. with a partical maintaince record.

or

1995 e420 with 181km excellent cond black on blk car was parked for one year but has a full maintaince record but from various diff shops.

boths cars are selling for $5 thao

now reading from this forum i beleive that the 420 actually gets better milage due to the low revs but the years 94-95 are prone to have harness failures. im not to concerned that it drives nicer, more so in how many possible ways it can break like recalls and known problems compared to the e300.

so which car recommend as a the grocery getter? any advice for things to look for besides whats on consumers report would be really appreciated.

tnx in advance....

Under those circumstances, with my reputation on the line, I'd recommend the Camry first, with the E420 second, and 300E third, unless the E420 had ASR then it would move to third. The E420 should get better mileage than the 300E.

Get the 95 E420 at a better price though, they are not prone to harness failure. The harness failure is a C Class problem from that time. The 94-95 E Classes are bulletproof!
Good luck.

i didnt check to see if the car was equipped with ASR, is it really that bad?

and is it true that 300e has head gasket problem? maybe i shpuld be looking for a 94-95 320. theres a 95 4matic in my area.

I recommend a "Collora", and use remainder of the funds on grammar/spelling lessons.

Toyota is designed for people who don't really take care of cars. They can use them and treat them badly and not really do anything besides tires and oil and what-not and have them pretty much not break by the side of the road. If that fits go for it.

15 yr old MB's belong in attentive hands.
