PLEASE HELP!! My top will not go down

i have a 1993 300CE, with a major leak in the top release system. I can not find a release method to operate by hand. I have found the boot release which gains access to the top when it is already down, but this will not get the top to release. I need to get in to the boot to fix the leak. Hope someone has the answer. thanks for looking!!
