The owner of a 300D turbo

I am in the process of rebuilbing my 300D. I claimed it as an abandoned car after watching it for two years set out in the weather. It took me a year to get all the paper work finished and get the keys. I changed all the fluids and put a new battery in it and it started on the first turn of the key. I am just now having some issues with the vacuum system, which from what I have been reading on your forums seem to run just about everything. I got the diagram of the locking system but was wondering about the rest of the system? I have a vacuum pump and would like to have some information on what the reading should be. I am planning on using a pump repair kit ,but before I take that step I want to know what to look for.
I have become a true fan of these engines and want to get it back in shape.

Nice. What was the situation involving the abandonment and how tough was it to get possession of it?

I'm sorry for not getting back sooner, I am back trying to get my BA in Business and it has been taking up most of my time. From having the car towed home to getting the title it took about 8 months. The previous owner was hard to track down, and took his time in signing off. But in the end I got the car for around $600 including title tags insurance, towing charge ,and changing all the fluids. I am now trying to rebuild it and some of the parts are tough to find. I found a 1981 300 D and most of the body part are the same. The engine runs better than mine right niow but I am thinking about turnning it into a generator for my house. I am having a problem putting a radio in, who ever took old one out took some of the wring along with it.So now I am looking for a clear diagram to check what is missing. So far so good
