A few C200 Problems..
I recently became a first time MB owner.I bought a 1995 C200 just a few days ago.Its an import from Japan and Im the first NZ owner, however my car is a bit sick and I need some advice.
Driving home yesterday the EXH Temp warning light kept coming on. After reading through other threads here I realize this is most likely to be the catalic convertor.
Would this also be responsible for a loss of grunt and the car being unable to be driven over 2000 revs? It splutters and seems to misfire and basically cannot be driven on the road.
There seems to be a hissing noise coming from what I am assumming is the fuel pump/filter located just in front of the rear diff.
Any help with the way forward here would be appreciated. Im thinking of taking out the CC(not replacing it- dont need them in NZ) first to see if this clears the EXH Temp light up and give more HP . Hoefully with the engine not backed up it may fix the engine revs.
