With pricked up ears, did someone mention beer?? Honey where did you hide the bottle opener this time?

E350 was available in Europe at 2005 time, I did not check if it was available earlier. I guess this is quite typical, some engines are first used in Europe for some time before MBUSA "accepts" those. I understood the same being the case for some of the current CGI gassers.

Face lift should have arrived everywhere at the same time, at least I have not seen any difference when searching EPC.

Now that is a novel idea, I would look into that further. But firstly I note that not all the windscreens for Benz are made by Pilkintons, however it is one road to run.

Thanks for all your helpful replies. I really learned a lot…

MTI, great tip, thanks… but there is no way I can break into his car to check that

Diezel Benz, thanks for the link, I don’t see any bluetec or CDI badges on the back of his car… I can’t tell whether it’s got the facelift or not

mr.xpowerseller, what a great idea! I’ll try to take a pic with my phone. Actually, I am not jealous at all, just curious but why should I feel bad for him if it’s a 2003? I’ve seen some nice 2003 ones out there…

Musikmann, is there a chance to see a 2007 E320 in the US? I’ve never seen a pointer front bumper before…

Roncor, great tip, thanks…I’ll have to do that when he parked his car far away in the parking lot of the campus or I may get caught!

Update – I just took the bullet and asked the dude, he said it’s a 2007 E320. It doesn’t have a bluetec badge on the back just a “E320” badge on the left side… It’s a nice car, definitely not a 2002 body style… I definitely can spot those! My mom’s friend has one and she thinks that’s the coolest Mercedes out there!

Any help will be much appreciated, you guys have been helpful

I'm not familiar with the US models but this does not sound right. If it is a 2007 E320 it should be a bluetec model, shouldn't it? The bluetec letters may always have been removed but shouldn't those be present on a new car?

Do you know the difference in the looks between the face lift and the pre-face lift? Like the sharper nose and the chrome decoration wider at the trunk lid? Those would definitely have to exist on a 2007 car but of course those may have been retrofitted too.

You should really get the VIN-code, it should be visible from outside at the bottom part of the windscreen in front of the driver or at the B-pillar label (door open).
