Unhappy slk230 cuts out at exactly 4000rpms

hello everyone,
i another new guy here..with a car problem. ive owned a 88 190E and now a
98 slk230 i loved them both!
i am however having a problem with my slk230 ive taken it two "import specialized" mechanics...they both couldnt figure out whats wrong. the problem being it cuts out, like the fuel shuts off or governs out at 4,000rpms the only engine code i get is is a p0170 fuel trim bank1....which ive got from time to time and ive fixed by cleaning out the MAF. the only other simptom i get is the ignition cycles a little longer to start each time....ive recently changed the O2 sensor and fuel filter...that didnt help.. im told it could be the camp position sensor, the MAP sensor and or fuel pump...but would nt have the mechanics figured that out.....one mechanic did say it was running lean on bank 1 according to the diagnose computer. should i just drive it to the dealer? can anyone advise?

How old are you spark plugs? I had this same problem on my volvo, changed out the plugs and the miss went away.

Cuts

out while in motion or cuts out while revving it in park or neutral?
If so in park or neutral it is your neutral safety rev limiter. Most Mb models have them separate of the electronically limited top speed governor.
So clarify when it occurs.

i checked the plugs there good...to clarify it cuts out at 4k in P, N and while driving.... no matter what i do, shift down, punch, and or ease it up to 4k in any and all gears. its like some is playin a prank on me and lowered the governor to 4k. i just ordered a mew MAF (even though i clean mine regularly) and the starting cycle is runs longer than usual which makes me wonder about the crank sensor and or the cam sensor...but would i get an engine code aside of the P0170?
