1987 300TD Price

I was at my local MB dealer today finalizing the purchase of a new C300 for my mother-in-law, and I casually asked if they got any older cars for trade on newer ones. The salesgirl told me that they had just gotten a 1987 300TD wagon from a little old lady, but it "needed a lot of work". I went out and looked at it only to find a 95% rust free, good looking, but dirty, car. She said they drove it up to the lot, so it does run. I asked her to find out what they'd sell it for, just for my info.

The interior is good, but dirty. One small crack in the dash, seats are not ripped, carpet is dirty and the humidity has obviously done its part with the car. Most of the interior panels are excellent with some pulling away of the material Headliner is in top shape as is the sunroof.

Can someone give me a good idea of what the car would be worth? Nada guides say 4800, but that seems a tad pricey for the car in the shape its in.

87 diesel is the one with aluminum heads that like to crack?
No books will give you real market value. Hit local craigslist or autotrader.
