Help w/ terminolgy and component location

Okay... I know you guys are sick of my dumb questions, I'm sick of them too. But since you guys are cool, knowledgeable, and nice enough to help me - here goes. In a w220 - w221 where is the Fully Integrated Transmission Control Unit (VGS), the N15/3 (ETC control module), and the N47-5 (ESP control module)... And finally, does anyone know what the "Consumer Shut Off" is and why it would be active/ how to deactivate it... I don't have access to All-data or anything like that and the dealer will not work on the vehicle because of the stupid modifications. Please help.

Here's part of it. Consumer Shut Off indicates low battery voltage so non-essential electrical consumers have been turned off.

Please don't apologize for asking questions, that's what this forum is all about. Since your questions involve the W220/W221 why don't you ask in those model-specific forums? Please note that the AMG and non-AMG are separate forums. Scroll down from this general forum and you will see them. Good luck.

The above is correct and as to the component location bit. these are two different vehicles so do you need component location for the 220 or the 221 the locations are different

Component locations are thoroughly described in Mercedes Service DVDs, which are easily obtainable from dealer or at 800.for.merc

Out of curiosity, what sorts of modifications disqualify a car from dealer service? I saw tons of heavily modified cars in LA at the dealers so I can assume this is a dealer's individual option?
