newbie about to buy 320CE in Hong Kong
i had a 260E saloon about ten years ago and always fancied the coupe. Now I have to two kids we can't all fit in a coupe, but I've convinced myself to buy my dream car to go to work in each day. From the UK but I live in HK and am lucky to have a car park space at work and convined the wife it's cheaper than taking a taxi each day!!
I found a great car, 1995 320 coupe in pristine condition, subtle bodykit rather than the sometimes over the top ones. the saloon I had had the AMG spoiler which i never really liked, this has no spoiler only the skirt. So far so good. The only problem it's in a light gold colour which I am not too keen on. this is a popular colour in HK so good if I need to sell if I lose the job in the credit crunch, you may have heard about that. Has anyone resprayed one of these cars? I have no experience other than bumper damage etc, I am worrried I'll see the old colour inside the door hinges, engine etc. Do they need to strip the whole car to do a proper job? Labour in HK is relatively cheap but I like an idea about this before i buy the car. I'll probably buy it anyway since it is in great condition, maybe i will learn to love it. the current owner has already resprayed the bumpers to colour code them with the skirt, so it's no longer got the slightly less shiny paint in the bottom third of the doors. Anyway, look forward to hearing your advice and thoughts, great fotum by the way.
