2004 C320 4M AWD S/Wagon

To me, this is a new car. To the average joe just looking, it appears to be a new car, too. 44k miles. It's been a local use car in D.C., and it's been babied. So far, I am very happy.

That said, I'm a Benz newbie. I'm trying to find the general service stickies, but there are too many variations. Besides "take to dealership, bend over, submit willingly", it is hard to find the General TLC Thread: What general knowledge does one really need to have? In one place. Or three.

Then, I have lots of questions about what to do with all the obsolete COMAND, DVD-driven navigation system, and defunct analog TeleAid systems on this car? Do I just basically ignore them? Buy a Garmin, have good cell phone service.

This car IS wired for the telephone, but no handset came with it. Again, I can't imagine it is worth trying to get service??? Should I / Could I remove the big brick from the driver's armrest that houses the phone unit? Seems a waste of a lot of convenience space.

So far, not a single problem. The service records on this baby glow in the dark. It's been very properly loved by someone with lots of spare cash (I know who owned it, and they do have lots of spare cash and clearly spent the right $ on maintenance. I'm writing a thank you note...)

Beyond that, not a lot new to say. Another guy who loves his car. I hope it will treat me as well as I'll try to treat it.

Pointers to that General Awareness Page will be appreciated.
