what does MB Roadside Assistance do when you're 253
miles from the nearest MB dealer?

For example, if the battery dies completely, will MBUSA
send someone with a MB battery to replace it for me?
(the current MB battery is still within the 24-month
warranty) Or will MBUSA send someone from the local
gas/service station with a no-name battery?

I'd suggest you call MBUSA (web site http://mbusa.com) and ask that question.

My guess is they will not send a service vehicle 250 miles, but I don't know that. If they will, let us know! Let us know anyway.

Actually, I think they will send service that far, as that was the original reason for the program. People were hesitant to buy an MB because they could get stuck in the middle of nowhere with no service near by. MB responded with "Don't worry, we have you covered."

I have not tested this in the real world, though.

Well.... MB roadside assistance drives no tow truck, they carry no scanners and their tool box is smaller than mine used for painting jobs.
The service is limited to adding gas, giving a jump, changing a fuse or replace the battery.
Even fixing the flat is questionable.
So basically with ANY serious problem they will call local tow company to get your car to repair facility.
For specific situation I would call the MB USA and ask. If they give you a promise. write the representative name if case you might really need a help.

I think Kajtek1 is correct except for one thing. I'm nearly positive they will change a flat tire if your spare is usable. It just makes economic sense that they use some service facility closer to you if the nearest dealer is 253 miles away.
