G'day guys !

Hi, obviously I'm new to this forum and indeed to the wonderful world of Benz ownership. Previous cars have been "common" cars such as Holdens (mainly), Toyotas, Mitsubishis, (even the odd Ford) and the like. Even as a youngster I've always loved the look of the W126 series. Many years ago I was driven around in a 560 SEL owned by a certain Melbourne ,,,,umm,, businessman and was totally frickin' awestruck ! I could tell you some stories but obviously,,,,,,,
Whilst I realise this isn't DrPhil.com, I now realise that my unexpected Mercedes purchase ('84 280 SE) was probably subliminally prompted by the death a few weeks ago, of a dear friend of 27 years. Synchronicity, I guess. Andrew's dreams shall remain unfulfilled. My appetite was also possibly whetted by spending much of last year driving a Bentley "Blue Train" (awesome!) as well as other delicious Porsches, Beemers, Astons, etc. I think my favourite would have to be the CLK 63 AMG, SUPERB!!!
Anyway, I fear I prattle on too much.
Cheers, Ziggy.

Ziggy, Welcome to Benzworld! I am truly sorry for your loss. I can appreciate your feelings as I am in my mid forties and as of late have lost friends the same age as me and I wonder why.

Yes Honey! Thats how they sound! Its a diesel!
