Hi everyone, I'm new to Mercedes-Benz entirely, never driven or even rode in one until today.
This is a bit long, but I feel it's a great testimony to my experience with MBenz so far, so if it's tl;dr just skip to the bottom...
I started my hunt for a new car two weeks ago, with three cars in mind: a new Camry, a new Accord, and a used BMW 5 series. I test drove all three cars at different trims (V6/V4 Camry LE, Accord EX-V6, 550i, 525i). Of these three, I loved the ride of the Camry, but really admired the power and stability of the BMW. The Accord (I can't say for all of them, but I've only driven my friends') seems too rough for the passengers, and I didn't consider it an option. By the end of the day, I was leaning towards the 5 series mostly because of the great handling, comfortable ride, and decent price (~32k for a low mileage 525i/530i).
A week passes, and I'm still thinking about the BMW 530i. It's a wonderful car, has a great feel, but I wanted to be suresure.
A friend of mine sent me an web offer for the 2009 E-Class Mercedes, brand new and smokin' fast. The 268hp V6 blew away the older 5 series, and at only a fraction of the cost for a new 535i.
I spent 30 minutes inside that E350 and I fell in love with it. The handling, the standard features, the interior... I'm sure all of you know what I'm talking about. It was a wonderful drive, and a beautiful car. 18" AMG rims, an aggressive front end, and the classic executive look that the E series always impressed upon me.
It's sitting down in the garage right now. I've never owned a Lexus, BMW, Infiniti, or Benz. I have driven Nissans all my life, not because of choice but because of price. This is my first luxury sedan.
I love this car already, and I think I'll enjoy it more with each day. I consider myself lucky to own a Mercedes-Benz, and I hope you'll help me along when I need it
