Clean the carpeting with a "real" carpet cleaner. Clean the seats and door/kick panels. If leather, use a good leather cleaner. Get some Febreze Auto and spray the carpets, under the seats, door kick panels (if carpeted), and headliner. Get some Ozium Air Sanitizer, start the engine, set the HVAC to vent (with blower on high), and spray a good dose of Ozium in each inlet (probably located outside at the base of the windshield), and also in your interior air filter. You may have to do this a half dozen times or so if it is real bad. You can also use the Ozium like you used the Febreze. You should be able to get rid of most of the odor, but may still smell telltale amounts after the vehicle has been sitting and you first get in, especially when it's hot outside. Also get some air fresheners that clip in each A/C outlet, and put a couple "Christmas Tree" air fresheners (your choice of flavor) under the front seats. Hope this helps, as it has worked for me.
