Question Spark Plug Change C320

I bought a nice 2003 C320 Sport with 27,000 miles. I suppose it has the original spark plugs, and the car seems to run fine. However in accordance with my policy of never leaving well enough alone, I am thinking of changing the spark plugs and spark plug wires on the theory that being 6 years old they all might just need changing...

two questions: 1 How do you change the plugs on this engine? Easy or hard?
2. Would you bother?

Since buying the car, I have done my own version of a B Service, changed the air filters as well, and all is fine.

Spark plug change interval on this car is 100K miles. Age is meaningless.

It's a V6 with 12 sparkplugs.

Changing them is moderately difficult and requires special tools.

If you buy wires from the dealer, they are $35 each (X12, remember). Don't "fix" them unless they're broke. Don't break them by not using special tool to remove them from plug.

Get the service DVD--http://www.startekinfo.com/StarTek/outside/9124/?requestedDocId=9124

Suggest you wait another 73K miles.

Red face Thanks for the reply - will wait

Thanks for the reply. Indeed, I think maybe I have better use of my time and money than doing unnecessary replacement of the plugs and wires. I'll wait.

In the end, there really isn't a whole lot of servicing one can - or needs to do. Oil change, filter changes, the Schedule A and B routine.

Am planning tire change for this winter.
