Warranty for my new purchase?

I recently purchased an 05Clk 500 with 30K on it. I also purchased a 3rd party warranty of 5yr 75k for $3000. Now I am second guessing my self and questioning if I should have purchased it. I have the option of cancelling the warranty and getting back most of my money. What are your thoughts and experiences? Thanks

Depends upon the "benefits" of the warranty and whether you do your own repairs.

Enjoy the car. JV

i personally had a 3rd party warranty on my 2000 dodge dakota and they are no good in my opinion. for me i had to bring it to a shop that they have as part of their network and you still have to pay a percentage of the cost of the repair and they only covered certain things. i would have kept the 3000$ and since its an 05 i wouldnt think your going to have any issues anytime soon i would just keep that 3000 and use it if you actually need to repair it.

There are too many variables to give you a good answer. Perhaps the most important being from what company did you buy it and how carefully did you research it and the others? As with anything, there are good warranties and bad ones.

If you are a warranty type of person and typically buy used MBs, your best bet it to buy a CPO from a dealer and pay to extend the MB warranty for as long as you can. That's what I did and it more than paid for itself.
