Hey fellow M-B owners! My parents have left me as caretaker and new owner to a family-heirloom car, a 1985 380 SL, burgundy-maroon w/ tan interior, chocolate ragtop, and detachable winter hardtop. My dad passed last October 2008, but my mom is still alive and well in TN. "The Pup", as the car was named by my parents, is alive and well and enjoying whatever sun the NE will allow us in this quirky slow-to-start summer.
The car has less than 80K miles and really no rust at all, as it was driven sparingly and garage kept. My parents drove their E-class as a daily driver, as I put "my bid" in for this car about 10 years ago. It did make a 973 mile trip last November, from TN to MA, with Mar 2007 tags and no registration (pssst....don't tell the cops).
A hopeless carguy myself, I have The Pup, two beamers, a Ford Explorer and a 1973 Datsun 240Z. A big fan of coupes and GT cars, this is my first true convertible, but I adore the car. There are a few small things wrong with the car, that I can fix, so I will be looking for info. and help in the forum. Thanks in advance all you experts at M-Benz cars.
Thanks for reading my introduction. Happy motoring!
