Well, I have a German mother (and an Austrian father), and I spent half my life growing up in Germany (Coburg, if you're interested), so I do understand the mentality. Stubborn car, it seeks it's own perfection to a fault...

I've owned many Benz's over the years (my mother is a trauma surgeon and firmly believes they are the safest vehicles in the world, especially the big ones) and I have always believed they are the best cars in the world, but they are too tech heavy, and those tech pieces tend to be what breaks and causes huge repair bills down the road. I almost wish they made versions which were simpler, but built with their legendary quality (such as is the case in Europe, or at least it used to be, where you could get less optioned versions than the US customers expected)...
