Smile Hi from down under.

I am from Lake Taupo, New Zealand and have owned a number of classics. I have joined your group as I recently bought a 92 SL500 with 80,000km on the clock. It is in immaculate condition originating from Japan (a right hooker).Only fault is a small leak on the Left side where the hardtop meets the corner of the windscreen. My theory is to take a shim out of the clamp on that side as the rubber is all in unmarked condition.Hope this will work as I dont like water on the carpet!.Anyway, I'm 60 and retired. I also have a Mk4 Triumph Spitfire and a 2003 Porsche C4S, and my Hyundai Santa Fe 4by.You know, if I catch a trout here less than 16 inches long, it goes back, and thats the law here.Im married. We have 5 children and 5 grandchildren and life is just great

Aloha
Welcome to the forum

You can also condition the rubber seals with aerospace 303 or gummi-pfledge (do a search)
that may help the seals last longer.

Hi Leapyfish, thankyou for your reply. I looked up Aerospace 303 for New Zealand and of the 3 retailers for NZ, one is here in Taupo! Not really surprising, this is one great place.(Biased? What, me?)
