The dreaded sticking idle

Hello. New to the forum. I have a 1994 C280 Mercedes Benz. Can't begin to tell you how much water I poured in this hole. I have under 200,000 miles on the car. My problem is the idle sticks at times when I accelerate. I have taken this car to the shop. They clean it out and its good for a week or two. Problem returns.

Any suggestions as to what this could be so I can get this problem corrected. Also, I'm also starting to develop a very tiny amount of rough idle. Could this may be the wiring harness? Had it fixed once can't remember the cost. Thanks so much for reading this post and twice as much if you can help.

Mercedes Blues.

Well, it sounds like you are getting blow-by deposits from the crankcase on your throttle butterfly, causing it to stick, or not close completely. For a short-term solution, you could simply put some sort of in-line air filter from your valve cover vent hose. It sure sounds like you should use a heavier oil as well. I would use a 20-50 with those miles. It could sure it as well.

Sticking Idle

Thank you so much for your response. Believe me if I knew how to do it I would try. I just don't like going to the dealers blind. They see a females name and the next thing you know everything is wrong with the car.
