Somehow feels like home.

So I recently snagged a great '83 300DT, and I think it's the start of something. We're still getting acquainted.
It's only got 198000 kms (123000 miles) on it, but I think it's almost broken-in.
I had a couple of tiny spots of rust cut out of it, so now it's virtually rust-free (I know----it never sleeps). The interior is nearly flawless. It lacks a sunroof --- but, hey, life is full of compromises.
In the three weeks that I've owned it (I'm the 3rd), I've replaced the hood pad, removed the battery tray and front license plate bracket to treat with naval jelly and Tremclad, and I've dropped off the Becker Europa to get the cassette player functional. Waxing it for the first time was ---- well you know about that.
It was actually picked up in Germany, so it's got the triangle in the trunk. I'll post a few photos of the car sometime.
Our other MB diesel is squeezed into a 2005 smart --- 3 cylinders instead of 5. Quite different rides---- both deluxe in their own ways.
This seems to be an awesome site --- I look forward to soaking up a lot more of it.
