Post R350 Keyless Ignition

I purchased my wife a 2006 R350 from Carmax with 24k miles on it about 6 months ago. Sales person didn't even know how to put it in drive and there was no owners manual. Got the owners manual from MBUSA and just this weekend got around to programming the Homelink remote. However when scanning the "Quick Reference" guide I came across some features that I thought were MIA. For instance my wife can open / close all the windows with the key if she's on the drives side of the car and close to the handle (A little different from the Maxima it replaced). I also saw that this key enable push button ignition and that the "button" was removable. My thought is that the car may have this feature only someone took the button before i bought it. How can i determine if the car has this feature?

Welcome to the forum.
Maybe a R owner will be more specific here, but on E class the key less ignition has the starter button on the top of gear shifter.

On the R KG must be using the current approach, a plastic starter button put into the ignition slot. The simplest way would be to read the options from your data card (if you don't know how to do it, post your VIN and someone will find it for you).

The door handles would be a bit different too but you would need to know what to look after.
