Rear Seat catch doesn't work

Hi All,
I have an '06 C Class estate with a split rear seat. Yesterday the catch that allows the seat to fold forwards stopped working. The catch still comes forward and the red flag has popped up to show the seat is supposed to be released but the seat will not budge. Has anyone experianced this? If so how did you fix it?
